Since 1996 we have participated in the programme 2078/92, called "Limitation of fertilizers and chemical pesticides". We combine biological and conventional methods. Conventional insecticides have not been used since 1996 so that useful insects, such as the scale insect, ladybird or robbery mite, can reproduce. A partial covering of the vineyards with greenery has the same effect. Animal pests are fought only when they exceed a certain tolerance limit.
At Brancaia, we take preventive measures only against Downy mildew and Botrytis cinerea. |
