The Brancaia estate is located right in the heart of Tuscany in the municipality of Castellina in Chianti, approximately 5 km from the village. From the house you can reach Siena or San Gimignano in around 30 minutes, Florence in 45 minutes, and the nearest coastal resorts in approximately 90 minutes. There are several banks in Castellina in Chianti. We deal with the Banca di Toscana. It is open until 1 p.m. (except Saturdays).
There are two doctors in Castellina in Chianti. Siena and Florence both have hospitals. The telephone numbers and emergency contact details are listed next to the telephone in each apartment. Children's hospital in Florence: Ospedale Pediatrico Meyer, Via L. Giordano, 13 (Tel. 0039 055 56621). Garages and a petrol station are also available in the village. (Closed on Sundays).
The Brancaia estate can also be reached without a car, although it is less convenient. A bus service operates 3 or 4 times per day between Florence railway station and Castellina in Chianti. There are regular bus connections between Florence, Siena and Castellina.
Timetable and tickets are available from the tobacconist/household goods shop opposite the church, or in the stationery shop opposite the police station.
There are bus and rail connections between Florence and Siena, with a stop in Poggibonsi. From there you can take a taxi to Brancaia.
